My family realized sooner than I that being part of a community was much better than living alone. It took me a while to adjust from my home to living in my new Wesley Woods home, and I neglected my physical wellbeing. Eventually, I realized that to live a good life, I needed to be healthier. I joined the exercise classes offered in my Wesley Woods community which improved my physical health and mental attitude. I even wanted to eat healthier. The aerobic dance class and especially the balance class helped improve my coordination, balance, and stamina. The wellness offerings also include guest speakers on nutrition, promoting a healthy mental outlook and additional exercise recommendations. I am so grateful for these classes and other wellness support I receive from our chaplain and wellness nurse. Moving to Wesley Woods was the best thing that happened to me to maintain my physical and mental well-being and to age gracefully.
